  • Basic up to £45,000 per annum OTE 70,000
  • Paid Mileage
  • Monday - Thursday 8.15am-4pm and Friday 8am-3pm
  • Office based in west midlands for Training and then remote working.

Our client is looking for a passionate Business Development Manager who is passionate about building and retaining business with the view of delivering an outstanding service of sourcing and delivering fasteners into many industries. This sales role encompasses generating new business and nurturing those clients to be a valued customer. Ideally you will have worked in a Fastener sales environment, coming from the same industry is a must for this role.

Experience required

  • Full UK driving license
  • Knowledge of Fastener/Gasket industry, product specifications, manufacturing processes/capabilities, materials and product cost/pricing.
  • Successful experience ideally as an Inside Sales Representative/Account Manager role/ Sales executive, preferably in a manufacturing organization.
  • Selling techniques which include the ability to negotiate, motivate, persuade and the ability to perform effective presentations if necessary.
  • Basic understanding of business ethics.
  • Knowledge of production processes and flow of product.
  • Conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.


The role as a Business Development Manager:

  • Promotes/sells/secures orders from existing and prospective customers
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers to generate new business for the organization
  • Makes telephone calls and in-person visits (once a quarter) and presentations to existing and prospective customers
  • Attend Exhibitions
  • Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
  • Develops clear and effective quotations for current and prospective customers
  • Follows-up all quotations in a timely manor
  • Creates and maintains accurate customer database records by entering customer calls, results and order information.
  • Develops and maintains current product knowledge. Keeps informed of market, new products or services, applications, regulations, technical information, competition, warranties and product reliability and other general information of interest to the customer.
  • Performs other related functions as required or assigned.
