The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our hugely-successful Technology Recruitment Business based in the heart of vibrant Manchester! As a Business Development Consultant you will operate within the Technology Recruitment sector with the view of building new relationships with customers; identifying and securing new business opportunities. Working alongside a Recruiter you will manage your own area of the Public Sector Technology Recruitment market to deliver first-class recruitment services to customers within the local and central government and Education sectors. We are seeking an ambitious sales-driven individual looking for an opportunity to develop a long-term career at the UK's leading Specialist Recruitment Consultancy.

You'll benefit from industry-renowned training and the tools and technological support to make that hard-hitting impact. You won't be alone either - with the support of the wider Technology Team across the North West you will work with a network of talented colleagues supporting you to create the career that's right for you.

What can I expect day to day?

As a Business Development Consultant you'll have the freedom to do things differently, working alongside a Recruiter to manage your own area of the Technology market - working along side 20+ Technology Recruitment experts in Manchester. You will operate within a commercial and entrepreneurial environment, supported by colleagues with a wealth of experience empowering you to learn and grow. No day is the same here at Hays, and you will gain experience across a varied range of skills to include:

  • Building new relationships with clients to identify business opportunities
  • Conducting thorough market research to identify key areas to target
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing clients in the Technology market
  • Working alongside a Recruiter to ensure that all vacancies are serviced quickly with the best quality of candidates

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven success in either a Sales/Business Development or Recruitment role with demonstrable success in sales and account management and delivery.
  • People focused with a sales-driven mentality.
  • Commercially minded, with an innovative approach to work
  • Passion to succeed and be part of a fast-paced inclusive environment
  • Relationship focused with the confidence to build strong networks both with external customers and internal stakeholders.
