We are currently recruiting for a Burglary Investigation Officer to work for South Yorkshire Police at their Aldwick Police Station in Doncaster.

This is a temporary role working Monday to Friday office hours.

JOB PURPOSE: - Scene Attender at locations in Doncaster

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend location and addresses to speak with victims and witnesses.
  • Investigate dwelling burglary offences
  • Support and assist colleagues in undertaking investigations as required and directed by senior officer/line manager
  • Systematically seek, gather, evaluate and present evidence as part of investigations.
  • Liaise with other agencies on behalf of the complainant e.g. Victim Support, Social Services etc. to provide care for vulnerable persons, victims and witnesses.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Good communication skills with the ability to listen, empathise, provide support and adapt language, form and message to meet the needs of different people/audiences.
  • Able to work effectively in a team to achieve shared objectives, demonstrating awareness of individual differences and providing support and advice as required.
  • Able to utilise IT packages, systems and/or databases.
