BRC are working with a Reputable Housing Association in the South West who are looking for an experienced & enthusiastic Building Surveyor to run planned works contracts for social housing properties across Dorset, Somerset, Hampshire & Wiltshire
Main Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for surveying planned works and general repairs for external fabric and maintenance of social housing properties including single dwellings and flats
- You will be responsible for managing your own diary, working from home on a hybrid basis with travel to sites in Dorset, Somerset, Hampshire & Wiltshire when required
- Carry out detailed site inspections to identify works required to increase the overall quality of the stock including planned maintenance and repairs
- Prepare and evaluate tenders and put together specifications for works required
- Oversee contractors, ensuring they follow CDM and safety regulations whilst monitoring their works and progression of projects
- Assist with projects from start to finish for External fabric, structural replacements and energy efficiency projects
- Undertake quality control checks at agreed/critical milestones out on site
- Upon completion of work, process final valuations and CVIs
- Hold and chair contractor progress meetings and carry out typical contract management duties
Job Requirements
- HNC/HND or Equivalent
- Good understanding of building/fabric components
- Problem solving/solution/remedy of building defects.
- Specification writing.
