Building Services Surveyor

• Location: Salford Civic Centre, Swinton
• Job Type: Full-time

Salford City Council are seeking a Building Services Surveyor to join their Building & Facilities team. This role involves delivering high-quality service, maintenance, and repair provisions, as well as design and project delivery across a variety of mechanical building services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, carbon reduction technologies, and will be up to date with current Building Regulations and Health & Safety compliance.

• Deliver service, maintenance, and repair provisions to comply with statutory requirements and best practice.
• Directly contribute to ensuring the quality of service development activities.
• Provide technical support to colleagues and clients.
• Review specifications and service delivery systems to improve services.
• Inspect serviced equipment to ensure a high level of service by contractors.
• Attend contract monitoring meetings and liaise with Council Officers regarding work progress.
• Prepare early-stage design and feasibility work for projects.
• Undertake the role of Project Manager on projects, leading on all aspects of professional surveying work.
• Maintain service and test records, updating the City’s statutory compliance portal.

• Ability to establish good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
• Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of current legislation, e.g., Health & Safety, CDM, Building Regulations.
• Full driving licence.
