Location: Ideally based close to one of our offices, home working
Salary: Competitive, DOE + Benefits!
Contract: Full time, permanent. 37.5 hour working week; Monday to Friday

An opportunity exists for an Approved Inspector or Building Control Officer to join our Sheffield office to work on projects in the Commercial, Residential, Leisure and Retail sectors throughout England & Wales and help Monaghans prepare for and implement the new duty holder roles created under the Building Safety Act 2022 and The Building Regulations etc. (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2023.

As our Building Control Inspector, you will be responsible for:

  • Building control compliance delivery for a diverse range of instructions.
  • Delivering training for other team members including building surveyors and H&S professionals in building regulation compliance and management.
  • Desktop technical auditing and on-site inspections.
  • Plans checking and compliance management, carrying out building regulations compliance checks and management.

Working as part of the Built Asset Consultancy Team the successful candidate will experience a great opportunity to join an expanding business with exciting plans for the future, where progression and reward is driven by successful delivery.

We are looking for efficient, goal driven engaging individuals who prioritise innovation and flexibility.

In order to be successful in this role you must have / be:

  • MRICS or MCABE or CIOB (Level 4 Diploma in Building Control Surveying) qualified.
  • A proven track record in building control compliance delivery as an Approved Inspector or Building Control Inspector.
  • A detailed and in-depth understanding of Building Regulations and Fire Safety of residential, leisure and commercial buildings is required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge base including building control approvals and consultancy.
  • Delivery of work outputs within set time frames and commercial goals.
  • Commitment, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic.
  • Team player capable of a flexible approach.
  • Energetic & self-motivated.
  • Strong IT capabilities including working experience of Microsoft Office and Tablet & Mobile data collection.
