Bookkeeper

A niche business in Tonbridge is in search of a reliable and knowledgeable AAT-qualified Bookkeeper. This crucial role reports directly to the Finance Manager and is a key component within an accounting team of three. The ideal candidate will be a confident and experienced Bookkeeper with a strong background in the manufacturing sector and proficiency in handling inventory, fixed assets, banking, reconciliations, and large Excel data sets.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Making journal entries for all receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
  • Filing source documents for all recorded journal entries.
  • Posting journal entries to ledger accounts.
  • Preparing trial balances and performing bank reconciliations.
  • Preparing cash flow statements and financial reports.
  • Depositing money received by the organisation.
  • Issuing invoices for money owed to the organisation.
  • Paying accounts on behalf of the organisation.
  • Performing payroll administration duties and filing tax returns.
  • Carrying out other ad hoc duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • AAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar Bookkeeper role within the manufacturing sector.
  • Knowledge of inventory and fixed asset management.
  • Proficiency in banking and reconciliations.
  • Strong skills in managing large Excel data sets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Due to the rural location, having your own transport is essential.
