Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Bookkeeper to join their team in Exeter on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave.
 
This position has the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate. The ideal applicant will possess an AAT qualification, hands-on experience with SAGE, and a strong background in accounting within businesses.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete customer invoicing, resolving any associated issues promptly
  • Address and resolve customer queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Manage customer payments and oversee the Direct Debit payment system
  • Register new customers and maintain accurate customer records
  • Run payroll reports and MMR (Management, Monthly, and Reporting) reports
  • Monitor aged debt, prepare accrual reports, and manage long-service records
  • Maintain the WPA (Workplace Pension Administration)
  • Undertake Sage sales ledger responsibilities
  • Assist with minute-taking during meetings
  • Ensure compliance with Pool Car maintenance, ensuring MOT and Tax of the vehicles are up to date
Requirements:
  • AAT qualification is essential
  • Proficiency in SAGE software is required
  • Proven experience in accounts administration or a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
