Certified in Accounting / QuickBooks / Bookkeeping (Construction related)

Minimum 3 years experience (preferably within Construction)

Job Description

Bookkeeper / Office Assistant

Our Client is looking for a motivated individual to join our growing company as a Bookkeeper.

The successful candidate will report to the director and be responsible for all basic bookkeeping

up to trial balance.

The role will also include some general office responsibilities, for example answering phone calls, monitoring the accounts / general inbox, reporting to the Commercial Manager.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and extremely organised, able to work independently and as part of a team.

QuickBooks Online Bookkeeping experience is essential, preferably with construction company experience, along with confident IT skills.

Responsibilities

Raise / upload invoices and send to multiple clients (using Client Portals etc)

Invoice processing / managing internal sign off procedure

Managing Sub-contractor invoices / queries / Sub-contractor verification

Bank reconciliation

Credit Control - pending / overdue invoices

Record supplier invoices on our system and pay bills in accordance to supplier terms

Weekly and monthly payroll information

Weekly expenses reconciliation / payments

Monthly VAT Returns - Pay HMRC by due dates

Monthly VAT Returns for Quarterly reporting

Bookkeeping and providing financial reports for review with Commercial Manager

Liaise with external Accountant to provide all information required to complete annual

accounts

Answer telephone calls and monitor email inbox for invoices and ad hoc queries

Key Skills and experience

Certified Accounts / QuickBooks online bookkeeping experience

Attention to detail

CIS Knowledge and experience

Good Outlook, Excel and Word skills

Hardworking and motivated

Able to work autonomously and as part of a team

Experienced using QuickBooks accounting software / reports

Schedule:

Day shift (9am - 5pm)

Weekdays (Mon - Friday)

No weekends anticipated

Ability to commute

BASILDON: SS14 - commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Accounting / Bookkeeping: QuickBooks - Min 2 years experience

Preferably Construction based

General Admin / Office duties

Work Location: Basildon SS14 (Office based)
