Position: Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant

Location: Coventry, Warwickshire

Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 (potentially negotiable in outstanding cases)

Term: Permanent OR Temporary-to-Permanent, Full-time

Macildowie are pleased to be partnered with a dynamic SME within the Manufacturing sector based in Coventry, Warwickshire. We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join their team consisting of 3 Accounts professionals. We are urgently seeking a dedicated individual to manage the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and small Payroll operations for a team of 35 employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions efficiently and accurately
  • Handle small-scale Payroll processing for 35 employees
  • Utilise intermediate Excel skills to input/analyse financial data and prepare reports
  • Interact professionally with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Independently troubleshoot challenges using initiative and sound judgement
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating competence in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable (including some Credit Control), and Payroll functions.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel is essential.
  • AAT qualification and/or a Degree in Accounting & Finance (or similar) are desirable; however, candidates with equivalent qualifications by experience will also be considered.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, utilising initiative to overcome challenges effectively.
