ASEND tuition supports SEND pupils and helps them continue their learning while they cannot access school or don’t have a school place. We are looking for a Biology tutor to support a pupil in High Wycombe to enable her to take up a college course.

What ASEND Tuition Is

We are looking for inspirational tutors to support children and young people with SEND in High Wycombe. We support pupils with SEND who are not attending school for a number of reasons including medical needs, Mental Health issues, or lack of a suitable school place. We aim to prepare them for a return to mainstream or special school, to continue their learning or further their education.

We tutor pupils of all ages face-to-face within school times and in a range of settings including homes, schools, community centres and out in the community. Our tuition is completely pupil-focused and can target developing early learning, following an academic curriculum, providing emotional support or developing life skills. We need a wide range of tutors to support our pupils to meet their specific needs and ensure good progress. We work very hard to match each tutor with pupils who can most benefit from their skills and expertise.

This role will be in person in High Wycombe for 4 hours per week.

About The Pupil

Our pupil is a bright and charismatic 18-year-old young lady. She has experienced mental health difficulties recently. Despite the challenges that these experiences may have brought, she has maintained her drive for learning and is an able, ambitious young lady. She is looking for support for A-level Biology. She is an incredibly talented artist who has a love for arts and crafts and would love to also learn the piano eventually. Her future plans are to travel and go to university; which is where her tutor comes in.

The ideal tutor for this role would be someone who is sensitive and compassionate, as this pupil has been through a lot of hardship. Someone who is comfortable tutoring A-level Biology is essential. The ideal candidate would also be empathetic, motivating and encouraging, to help the pupil overcome her doubts about her achievements.
