Operating for over a decade, our client is a leading global player in commercial law. They have a range of high-profile clients including FTSE and AIM companies, and a dedicated team of over 900 lawyers across eleven offices. They are now looking for a Billing/Collections Assistant to help manage the firm’s AR and revenue function in addition to assisting the firm to achieve its financial targets by providing an efficient and commercially focused service throughout the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing relationships to gain knowledge about the clients and matters of the departments quickly.
  • Providing timely reports for Partners and Clients of outstanding invoices.
  • Responsible for managing the AR revenue aspects of Partners and fee earners within the firm.
  • Conducting a regular review of AR comments and arranging review meetings with Partners and fee earners.
  • Holding and/or attending meetings with the Biller, Partners and fee earners to discuss AR in order to determine most appropriate course of action.
  • Ensuring the timely delivery and payment of bills.
  • Assist with ebilling delivery of invoices.
  • Keeping the matter comments up to date for the purposes of reporting.
  • Provide cash flow projections from the payment coding when requested.
  • Maintenance of transfers of time/cost and write-offs, production of credit notes where necessary.
  • Regular analysis of client/matter information in relation to archiving.
  • Keeping Partners and fee earners up-to-date on outstanding matters.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of five years plus previous experience of working in a legal environment including some exposure to billing, VAT, and disbursements.
  • Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • An understanding or experience of billing and collecting in a foreign currency and associated issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel.
  • Experience of using Elite 3E.
