I am working with a market leader who provide utilities to social housing properties across the East of England and West Midlands. They are now looking to recruit a Bid Writer.

The role can mostly be undertaken remotely from home with travel to offices in Stowmarket, Boston, Hertfordshire, Birmingham, Lincoln, Suffolk or Derby. The salary is up to £45,000 depending on experience.

Due to continued growth and the business supporting a substantial number of franchises the team are now looking for the support from a Bid Writer. This is a great opportunity for a bid writer who is looking to work with a leading heating/hot water specialist, provide high quality written tender material, with the ultimate goal to win renewal/new contracts and retain existing clients.

About the role

You will work alongside the Head of bids to assist and maintain first class bid content. Main responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the end-to-end bid process for new and retained bids whilst raising the company’s profile through exceptional quality tender submissions.
  • Producing high scoring proposal content that meets specific client requirements.
  • Author tender responses in response to specific tender questions and in line with evaluation criteria or in line with market best practice where not provided.
  • Reviewing existing written material, edit, and make amendments to improve the overall quality of bids as part of a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Actively seek out high quality content from internal and external stakeholders to constantly improve proposal quality.
  • Supporting the Bid Team and wider operational teams win business.

About you

You will have at least a years’ experience working within the bidding environment, with the ability to manage and prioritise your workload. Exposure within the FM/Construction/Utilities environment is a must. You will be an excellent communicator, working across the business, and confident communicating to various stakeholders. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
