Atrium Recruitment is thrilled to offer an exceptional opportunity with a rapidly expanding main contractor in North-East London for an accomplished Bid Writer. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in the company's growth trajectory by crafting compelling bids and proposals that win contracts and drive business success.

Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in preparing high-quality bids and proposals in response to tender invitations, ensuring compliance with client requirements, and adhering to submission deadlines.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather relevant information and translate technical details into clear, persuasive written content. Tailor messaging to effectively communicate the company's value proposition and differentiate from competitors.
  • Conduct thorough research on prospective clients, projects, and industry trends to inform bid strategies and enhance proposal content. Analyse tender documentation to identify key requirements and develop targeted responses.
  • Coordinate bid development activities, including scheduling meetings, gathering input from subject matter experts, and managing document version control. Ensure all contributors meet deadlines and deliver required content.
  • Review and edit bid documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards. Conduct comprehensive quality checks to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies.
  • Liaise with clients to clarify requirements, address queries, and build rapport throughout the bidding process. Attend client meetings and presentations as needed to support business development efforts.
  • Maintain an organized bid library containing standardized content, templates, and past submissions. Continuously update and refine bid materials to reflect the latest company capabilities and achievements.
  • Track bid outcomes and analyse win/loss data to identify areas for improvement and inform future bidding strategies. Provide feedback to internal stakeholders to enhance bid effectiveness and competitiveness.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in bid writing within the construction or related industry, with a track record of successfully securing contracts through competitive tendering processes.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly and persuasively. A keen eye for detail and proficiency in proofreading and editing.
  • Ability to understand client requirements and develop tailored bid strategies to maximize win potential. Strategic mindset with a focus on delivering competitive advantage.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including estimators, project managers, and subject matter experts, to gather information and develop winning proposals.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound understanding of the construction industry, including knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and market trends. Familiarity with construction contracts and procurement processes preferred.
  • Degree Qualified: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as English, Business, or Construction Management preferred.
