Bid Manager

Bid Manager with an electrical background required for my client based in Central London, who specialise in creating sophisticated lighting solutions.

The successful bid manager will have a robust understanding of electrical systems, particularly lighting, and will be instrumental in supporting sales strategies through accurate cost estimation and technical expertise.

• Exhibit a self-starter attitude, proactively collaborating with the sales team to devise cost-effective solutions for lighting projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates to support sales proposals, including materials, labour, equipment, and other related expenses.
• Work alongside engineering and design teams to ensure project proposals are technically sound and feasible.
• Analyse technical documents (e.g., tender specifications, construction drawings) to provide accurate estimates of costs.
• Engage with suppliers and contractors to obtain and evaluate quotes and bids, negotiating favourable terms where possible.
• Regularly update project estimates based on project progress and market changes.
• Prepare tender documents that contribute to successful bid submissions.
• Offer clients and internal teams' technical guidance, improving understanding and decision-making.
• Keep abreast of industry developments, new technologies, and best practices in lighting.

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience as an electrical estimator, ideally within the outdoor lighting sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of effectively collaborating with diverse teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Based within a commutable distance of Central London.

• Salary - £35,000 to £45,000 - dependent upon experience, skill and qualifications.
