We’re now looking for a BI Developer - someone to support us on our journey for self-service reporting.

In line with Stonewater’s strategy, you will create and facilitate efficient and value for money technical solutions, meeting the reporting needs of the business. You will support the data team’s ownership of the Power BI platform, by building and maintaining, workspaces, dashboards, datasets and reports, and elicit the underlying data and process issues that need to be understood and documented for accurate reporting. You’ll do this by using a variety of analytical techniques to discover any challenges within the data/processes, documenting all findings within User Stories in DevOps.

You will also lead workshops to engage multiple stakeholders, where business critical/cross business reporting is required and extract all user needs. You will motivate and facilitate a forward thinking and collaborative approach to work, giving all members the chance to contribute to the future of Stonewater’s data platform.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience of building Power BI datasets from a variety of data sources (SQL, Sharepoint, Dataverse, oData).
  • Have experience of writing measures and calculations in DAX.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Power Query, including Advanced Editor and 'M’.
  • Be able to write queries using SQL.
  • Have experience of using Power BI Apps to deploy dashboards and reports.
  • Have experience of standardising reports across a business.
  • Be able to gather and interpret stakeholder requirements.
  • Be able to train users with basic skills in Power BI.
  • Be comfortable managing/maintaining a codebase of PowerBI reports.
  • Have excellent communication, influencing and persuading skills at all levels.
  • Have excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Be comfortable working within a fast-paced agile environment, with ever-changing needs.

Appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check, satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
