A special school in North Leeds is seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Worker to join their growing team of support staff. The school caters for children and young people aged 11 to 19 with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Communication Barriers.

The school is seeking a full time (Monday to Friday) Behaviour Support Worker to start as soon as possible with the possibility of securing a permanent position - part time roles are also available.

As a Behaviour Support Worker, your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • To build strong rapport with the pupils to help them feel comfortable and relaxed in school.
  • To support with behaviour management as and when required and work alongside other support staff.
  • To support the children in accordance to their care plan and ensure their needs and requirements are met.
  • To assist the class teacher in running exciting lessons and stimulating activities to aid the pupils' sensory skills and development.
  • To support pupils with personal care if required.

To be a Behaviour Support Worker at this school, it is required that you have experience supporting children with autism and Learning Disabilities and preferably in a classroom environment to demonstrate your knowledge of how to support vulnerable young people.
