Behaviour Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a supportive SEN school in Leeds. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needs. Working through Reed, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a nurturing educational environment that caters to the unique requirements of each student.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide one-to-one support and group support to students with a range of SEN, promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and individualised support plans in collaboration with teaching staff.
  • Monitor and record student progress, adapting approaches to meet their evolving needs.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to achieve their full potential.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your understanding of SEN and behaviour management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly in an SEN setting.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN such as ASD, ADHD, and emotional behavioural difficulties.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students.
  • Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to supporting students with challenging behaviour.
  • A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
