A lovely school in Oxford is on the hunt for a Behaviour Support Assistant. They are looking for a compassionate and confident individual to come in to support students who struggle with their behaviour as a result of their mental health and childhood trauma.

The position is to start ASAP.

The role as a Behaviour Support Assistant:

Your role will mostly be revolved around supporting the students. This will happen in either small groups or one to one. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a professional team with dedicated members of staff. You will have the chance to help deliver interventions for the students. These interventions are usually focused around helping promote good social behaviour as well as boost their performance in the classroom.

The successful Behaviour Support Assistant:

  • Will have a patient and compassionate personality
  • Will be able to take initiative well and adapt their approach to meet the needs of the child
  • Have good problem solving skills
  • Create a fun and engaging environment for students to thrive
  • Confident and able to work through challenging behaviour
  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one
