Join Our Team as a Behaviour Mentor!

We're seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a mainstream secondary school in Lewisham. This full-time, long-term position is available immediately and will extend until the end of the academic year.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents is essential.
  • A valid and up-to-date DBS check registered on the update service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting the academic and personal development of young people.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students exhibiting challenging behaviour.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions in collaboration with teachers and support staff.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement individualised support plans.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals as needed to support student well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student behaviour and progress.
