Banksman

We are looking for a Banksman for a recycling company based in St Albans.

 On-site Shovel/FLT Training Provided

· Monday to Friday | 7 AM - 5 PM

· Weekly Payment | English Proficiency Required

· No Experience Required - Training Will Be Provided

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a yard operative that can join our banksman team. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and be willing to work outside in all weather conditions. The role involves communicating clearly via hand held radios with the rest of your team to keep this very busy site moving safely. At times there can be a lot of walking so the candidate will also need to be physically fit. Full training will be provided with further advancement opportunities in the form of forklift and loading shovel operation training.

- Assist drivers and operators during work operations.

- Provide clear and effective communication to guide vehicle movements.

- Ensure safe distances are maintained between vehicles, workers, and equipment.

-Uphold control measures for work activities and environment.

- Monitor and enforce safety protocols on the recycling site.

- Collaborate with site supervisors to maintain a secure working environment.

-Utilize risk assessment to ensure safety. Report any issues.

- Assess potential hazards and communicate findings to the management team.

- Report and address any safety concerns promptly to prevent accidents.

- Adhere to thorough training for operations.

- Participate in comprehensive training programs covering signalling, equipment operation, and safety procedures.

- Stay updated on industry best practices to enhance performance.

- Use clear signalling to direct drivers or operators.

- Employ standardized hand signals and communication methods to guide vehicle operators effectively.

- Ensure precise and timely communication to prevent accidents and enhance workflow.

- Maintain a safe area during operations.

- Coordinate with other team members to keep work areas free from pedestrians and unauthorized personnel.

- Follow Health & Safety Guidelines.

- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines set by relevant authorities.

- Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
