Hours: Monday - Wednesday (09:00 - 17:00) 22.5 hours per week

Introduction to the Role:

An excellent opportunity has arisen to come and be a part of the Pharmacy service for Surrey & Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Introduction to the Trust, Ward & Team:

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the leading provider of health and social care services for people of all ages with mental ill-health and learning disabilities in Surrey and north east Hampshire. This role is for a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy department.

Responsibilities:

If you are successful in your application to this post, you will be expected to manage and deliver on the responsibilities outlined below - as well as a few not included here, call today to discuss this further:

  • To dispense and issue prescriptions and undertake the final accuracy checking of dispensed medicines.
  • To provide a high level of expertise to inpatients and community teams and be involved with the day to day running of the clozapine supply service.
  • To participate in the dispensing of prescriptions for in-patients and community basedservicesensuring the security of drugs throughout the supply process.
  • To utilise the Accredited Checking Technician qualification to perform the final accuracy check on dispensed items of prescriptions clinically screened by a pharmacist.
  • To assist in the safe and secure handling of Controlled Drugs within the dispensary and report any problems or discrepancies to the Dispensary Manager.
  • To be acquainted with the roles of other technicians within the department in order to provide cover for their services and be involved in the ordering and receipt of pharmacy medication supplies.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • GPhC registration & ACT accreditation.
  • Hospital experience is preferable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of JAC system is desirable.
