AWS Solutions Architect required for a specialist cloud consultancy, based from either Dundee, Edinburgh or Aberdeen (remote mainly).

The company:

They are a growing Cloud and Infrastructure consultancy and are also changing as a business, with large scale projects and clients being won. They have offices in either Dundee or Aberdeen, however this role only needs to be in the office twice a month (as a minimum).

They are a medium sized business and you will be joining as a Senior member of the team. Currently, the business is focused on AWS largely, however they are looking to also move into the Azure space. The business works on small to medium sized projects however there is a changing focus to larger scale projects and also bigger clients. They are looking ideally for someone with a strong consultancy or managed services background (although not necessary) and also who is definitely senior in stature.

The role:

Reporting into the Head of Cloud Services, you will be a key part of the Solutions Architect team which forms a core component of a customer-focused, commercial customer success function. The business has expert Architects across VMWare, Azure and Data Management, and are looking for another AWS specialist to join a growing team.

You will be responsible for designing AWS cloud first and hybrid cloud architectures and will integrate alongside Azure as well as the business' own cloud solution. You will have crucial face time with both clients and internal stakeholders, to understand their technical requirements and business needs and acting as a trusted partner in their cloud journey.

The company are based in both Dundee and Aberdeen, however the company have a 2 day a month policy in office, so offer a very flexible WFH policy.

Key responsibilities and background:

** Design hybrid cloud architectures that focus mainly on AWS, but also combine with Azure and other bespoke cloud solutions

** Strong cloud migration experience including AWS migration acceleration program (MAP), containerisation and microservices

** Ability to produce customer solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations, as well as available commercial budgets

** Ability to serve as an SME across AWS for the business, providing both expertise and guidance to customers as well as internal engineering teams

** Scope out existing technology solutions with customers and prospects to support our recommended technical solution

** Own the architecture during the implementation of AWS cloud solutions, working closely with project and engineering teams to ensure successful delivery

** Stay up to date on the latest tech trends relating to AWS

You as a person:

** You should have a proven track record in creating, developing, and/or modernizing cloud solutions with a focus on the AWS platform

** Either a few years experience in an AWS Architect or Senior Technical role with a primary focus on AWS cloud technology

** Knowledge across cloud security, operating systems (Windows/Linux), Networking, monitoring systems

** Automation skills (Ansible, Docker etc), Cisco FirePower, Barracuda, ServiceNow, DellEMC Products -: all an added bonus as skills

** Demonstrated experience in architecting and providing technical pre-sales/solution architecture capabilities within customer-facing sales cycles (bonus)

** Broad technical knowledge encompassing all aspects of Cloud & Datacentre and Modern Workplace, including AWS, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, M365, VMware and Microsoft
