Aviation Finance Associate

This leading global law firm are renowned for their specialized expertise across various sectors with a team of over 600 lawyers spanning globally.

They have an exciting opportunity for a Aviation Finance Associate to join their growing team based in London.

About the Department:

• The team are one of the largest and most dedicated in the industry and are recognized by independent legal directories like Chambers and Legal 500.
• The team's expertise covers a wide range of dispute resolution, regulatory, and transactional work within the aviation and aerospace sector.
• The Aviation Finance team advises prominent players in the industry on aircraft and engine trading, leasing, and financing transactions.

Recent highlights include:

• Advising on high-profile sale and leaseback transactions, acquisition and financing of corporate aircraft
• Sale and purchase of used business aircraft
• Recovery of commercial passenger aircraft in complex liquidation scenarios.
• The Role
• This role is based in the London office, specifically within the aviation finance team. You will join a dynamic and energetic team led by 4 Partners and supported by experienced Associates.
• The primary focus of this role is to work on international aviation finance, sale and purchase, and leasing transactions.

Key Skills & Experience Required

• Excellent academic background, including a 2:1 or above at degree level or equivalent.
• Approximately 3-4 years of post-qualification experience in aviation finance or asset finance from a reputable commercial practice.
• Strong interest in developing expertise within the Aviation sector, particularly in aviation finance and leasing.
• Familiarity with common aviation financing structures, aircraft sale and purchase, and leasing considerations.
• Demonstrable business development and client engagement skills relevant to your level of experience.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
