We are actively recruiting a proactive Audit Trainee who is passionate about making a difference to join our growing team.

This would be the perfect role for an A-level leaver with basic accounting knowledge / experience.

The successful candidate will have a varied role within the team and be provided with full training leading to a professional qualification (AAT)

Client Details

Our client is a highly respected professional services firm, specialising in accounting and finance. Based in Weybridge, they are known for their commitment to employee development and client satisfaction.

A note about travel - "40-50% of our audits are onsite at our clients offices, and these typically range from a 5 minutes down the road to 1.5 hours drive from our office (i.e. within Surrey). This is for 95% of our clients including a handful in London".

The Audit Trainee role (Full training provided) involves:

The Role:

  • Assist with the completion of assigned audit engagements within the office and at client premises. Depending on assigned engagement, you will report to either the Audit Senior or Manager.
  • Manage your own daily activities assigned to assist the Audit Senior during an engagement.
  • Communicates identified issues with Audit Senior or Manager to ensure any concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner.


General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts assigned audit engagements as specified within the annual audit plan
  • Identifies and communicates issues raised, offering recommended solutions relevant to business and risk
  • Conducts audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives
  • Obtains and reviews evidence ensuring audit conclusions are well documented
  • Ensures adherence at all times to all applicable department procedures and professional standards
  • Building professional relationships with clients and related third parties
  • Responding to clients in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Communicates to audit team and clients in a manner that is clear and concise ensuring high quality, timely, accurate and efficient results
  • Ensures adequate focus on personal professional growth relevant to taking on more challenging assignments, in line with standard audit career progression - proactively seeks relevant education and training opportunities
  • Keep Audit Manager & Senior informed of work in progress
  • Keep clients informed of job progress
  • Performs other related and ad hoc duties as assigned

Profile

A successful Audit Trainee role (Full training provided) should have:

Qualifications Essential:

  • A-Levels - With A to C results in at least 3 A Levels
  • Maths GCSE - A-C pass minimum
  • (Graduates will also be considered however a degree is NOT required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • A professional demeanour and the ability to work well within a team.

Job Offer

The Audit Trainee role (Full training provided) offers;

  • base salary of £18-22.000
  • full training, and full study support towards The Association of Accounting Technicians, AAT (and then moving on to ACA and CTA)

  • 37 hours per week (core hours between 10am - 4pm)
