Our client is one of the largest independent firms of chartered accountants and advisers in the South West with multiple office locations across the South West. They now seek a Senior Associate - Audit to provide senior expertise and lead audits. Reporting to the Audit Manager / Partner.

Ideally, you will be based within commutable distance of Swindon / Trowbridge / Bath or Taunton with travel to other offices and clients, as required.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Dealing with Owner managed businesses
  • Preparation of personnel tax computations
  • Use of Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • Auditing
  • Managing junior staff while out on audit.
  • Use of Xero / QBO
  • Use of Iris practice software
  • Preparation of statutory accounts, both FRS102 and FRS105
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience of charity or pension audits
  • Managing junior staff while out on audit.
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations
  • Use of Xero / QBO
  • Use of Iris practice software

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Audit accounts, interpreting and verifying all information provided by clients
  • Prepare annual and management accounts ensuring details are accurate
  • Completing basic tax computations
  • Completing detailed schedules for each set of accounts to ensure the analysis is correct and logical as required
  • Identify any problems with information provided by the client and discuss with the client accordingly
  • Composing correspondence to clients, tax office, registrar of companies and others
  • Produce accounts/tables/schedules/letters to expected standards using Word, IRIS, and Excel
  • Plan and prioritise work
  • Providing coaching, feedback, and support to less experienced members of the team, using knowledge and experience to suggest different approaches that could be taken
  • Delegating work to less experienced members of the team
  • Providing feedback to partners on business and any other concerns to ensure that they are fully aware of any issues

Education & Qualifications

• Qualified/part qualified ACA/ACCA, AAT Level 4 or qualified by experience. Degree level education
