This outstanding firm of accountants in Sheffield is searching for an ambitious and confident Audit Assistant Manager who can support the Audit Manager overseeing the provision of audit and enhanced service levels for a loyal client portfolio.

You’ll oversee all elements of the audit process and you’ll be an inspiring leader and have the potential to progress further into your career in audit management.

This employer is seeking a talented all rounder who is likely ACCA/ACA qualified and is ready to progress onwards in their already progressive career as an accountant.

You’ll be an able mentor and you’ll be flexible in your approach and able to support the senior team on an ad hoc basis. You’ll be organised and have great time management and communication skills.

Job Purpose

  • Support the managers in audit engagements from planning to completion.
  • Preparation of financial statements under IFRS and FRS102.
  • Oversee workflow across the audit team, ensuring expectations, deadlines, and budgets are met.
  • Liaise with clients, building trusted and long-lasting relationships.
  • Provide constructive mentorship to junior team members, championing their professional development.
  • Work closely with Partners and other Managers to support company growth, including scoping opportunities and pitching for new business.
  • Billing and debt oversight.
  • Identify services that will add value to your portfolio of clients.
  • Reviewing internal processes and providing recommendations to improve efficiencies across the audit function.
  • Set an example for the team as a natural leader.
  • Business development and networking.

The Successful Applicant

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Experience leading on a diverse audit portfolio
  • Previous supervisory experience, with great people management skills
  • At least 5 years of UK practice experience
  • Experience in the charitable sector is desirable but not essential
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated and reliable
  • A drive to deliver technical knowledge as a point of call for the team
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency
  • Networking and relationship building skills
  • First class organisational, multi-tasking and delegation skills
  • Commercially minded with the ability to confidently seek new business opportunities.
