Job Purpose

  • Management of audits, from planning to completion
  • Review and preparation of accounts for a range of owner-managed businesses with turnovers to c. £70 million.
  • Provision of tax, VAT and general bookkeeping services.
  • Lead a portfolio of clients, from resource planning to WIP and budget management.
  • Work closely with clients to build trusted relationships, being the go-to for support.
  • Deliver a strong commercial awareness, reviewing opportunities for fee development.
  • Confidently present work to senior managers, completing files to a high standard.
  • Underpin audit and accounts matters with current legislation and compliance.
  • Handle compliance queries from clients, acting as the main point of contact and delivering clear communications.
  • Assist with pitching to new clients and attending networking opportunities, championing new business for the firm.
  • Delegate work to, and mentor new trainees, supporting with their learning and development.
  • Set an example for the team as a natural senior member of the team.

The Successful Applicant

  • ACA or ACCA qualified or part qualified with demonstrable accountancy practice experience.
  • Self-motivated and reliable who is eager to progress.
  • Technically efficient in both audit and accounting.
  • A drive to deliver technical knowledge as a point of call for the team.
  • Previous practice experience, with a positive and constructive attitude.
  • Confident in reviewing processes and improving systems to boost efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written.
  • Commercial awareness, with confidence to provide suggestions to leadership team.
