Attendance Coordinator
  • Job Type: Monday, Wednesday and Friday (part time)
  • Location: Uxbridge area
  • Salary: 14ph-18ph

We are seeking an Attendance Coordinator to play a crucial role in managing and improving student attendance and punctuality. This position requires a proactive individual who can work closely with the Head of School and other management to implement effective strategies and maintain high standards of attendance.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Undertake systematic attendance and punctuality checks, providing regular reports to the Head of School.
  • Collaborate with the Head of School and management to devise and implement attendance strategies.
  • Engage with students and groups to promote a positive ethos and high expectations regarding attendance.
  • Manage databases efficiently, ensuring student records are maintained in line with College requirements.
  • Identify “at risk” students and groups, closely monitoring their attendance, and providing guidance for improvement in collaboration with parents/guardians and staff.
  • Work closely with course team leaders, personal tutors, and teaching staff to ensure consistent support systems and procedures.
  • Liaise with internal and external agencies as appropriate, including student support, information and guidance services, and social services.
  • Contribute to termly Case Conferencing and Quality Assurance processes, providing relevant reports.
  • Assist in managing information concerning student behaviour and participate in disciplinary processes as required.
  • Attend and contribute to termly meetings and development activities organised by the line manager or Senior Attendance Coordinator.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of attendance management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including students, parents, and external agencies.
  • Proficient in database management and record-keeping.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
