Legal Expenses Underwriting Assistant (ATE)

Location: Bristol

Salary: £21,000 - £27,000 DOE + Great career prospects

The Company:

We are working with an excellent Legal Insurance Provider in the Bristol area. An exciting opportunity has come up in their technical After the Event underwriting team.

This business has a commitment to development and will support you through out your career in the pursuit of professional qualifications from Cert CII through to ACII. This is an entry-level role with the view to progress to a qualified Underwriter.

The team are close knit and friendly and are looking for someone who is ambitious and looking to be part of a long term and capable team.

The Role:

Working closely with solicitor partners you will be working on technical referral cases, assessing criteria against case law and your underwriting authority.
You will manage existing schemes and keep an eye on the ongoing analysis and performance of these, working against your short and longer-term KPIs to ensure SLAs are met.
Providing excellent customer journey to your legal partners you will need to communicate matters to them and the wider team and your management staff, seeking referral for matters outside of your authority limits.

The Required Skills:

• Ideally you will come from a legal or mathematics degree background with an analytical mentality and skill set
• Experience within ATE is highly beneficial but not essential, insurance experience from and underwriting or claims background would also be of interest. Similarly experience within the legal sector will be considered
• If you are a legal graduate with the right personality and aptitude your application will be considered
• Excel spreadsheet / Power BI knowledge is a huge advantage with the ability to manage data
