Exciting position to work within our Major Infrastructure Team, working on Multi-Billion pound projects!

The Assurance & Reporting Lead will play a critical role in ensuring that the Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plan Relocation (CWWTPR) Project adheres to Anglian Water Governance and Assurance procedures. This role will see the individual being involved at the very heart of the CWWTPR project, working with both internal and external Stakeholders, to ensure that the project delivers to key metrics. You will be expected to be a champion of 'good governance' across the project and to lead on the creation of the relevant processes and procedures which will be required to delivery this multi-million pound investment.

As Reporting Lead, you will be expected to deliver on time, insightful reports to the CWWTPR project teams and Project Boards. These reports will 'hold the mirror' up to the project, to ensure that cost, time and quality metrics are fully considered and understood. You will work closely with the CWWTPR Programme Delivery Manager to ensure that Risks & Opportunities are managed efficiently at all levels of the project.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for ensuring that the CWWTPR progresses in accordance with Anglian Water governance, using TOTEX Delivery Workflow (TDW) to demonstrate that the necessary deliverables have been achieved in order to meet the relevant Delivery Milestone (DM).

  • Working alongside the Programme Controls Office to ensure that decisions are based on quantitative data. Use data to predict impending risks and ensure pro active action is taken working alongside delivery teams.

  • Ensuring that key risks and issues are communicated to Anglian Water Governance Boards in a timely manner to avoid surprises

  • Ownership of CWWTPR Procedures and Processes and ensuring that these are updated in line with best practice and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for developing these procedures and processes

  • Chair of Portfolio Boards ensuring consistency of approach across the project and that the wider programme is progressing in-line with AWS standards

  • Undertake a leadership role in providing direction and challenge to the CWWTPR project throughout the project lifecycle

  • Undertake assurance checks across the project, ensuring that it is progressing in accordance with the approved Procedures and Processes put in place

  • Liaison with internal and external auditors, as required

  • Create and update right first time reporting for the CWWTPR to provide Stakeholders (internal and external) with right time information, to allow decisions to be made in a timely manner.

  • Own the reporting cycle for the project

  • Provide direction to the Programme Controls Officer on areas for improvement in data capture

What does it take to be the Assurance & Reporting Lead?

  • Educated to degree level with appropriate technical qualification or equivalent experience

  • Membership of a relevant professional organisation (ICE, APM etc)

  • Significant experience in issue resolution and risk management

  • Significant experience of Project Governance

  • Significant experience of providing right first time reporting

  • Experience of creating and improving project processes and procedures

  • Implementation of Earned Value Management

  • Audit experience of Major Projects

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality

  • Thoroughness in handling paperwork, records, and documentation.

  • Provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders
