Association Events Manager - 15 month Maternity Cover

An excellent opportunity to work for a well established and well know association on a fixed term 15-month maternity contract!

With a membership exceeding 1,000 organizations, active in the UK's Automotive industry, they boast a wealth of knowledge. Through collaborative efforts with governmental bodies and industry experts, they empower members to provide secure, eco-conscious, and cost-effective road transport solutions.

THE ROLE

As the Events Manager for this leading UK trade association in the automotive sector, you'll be at the heart of planning, coordinating, and delivering a diverse range of events. They organise 15 core events annually, along with 4 showcase events. Among these showcases, 3 are conferences across the UK. You'll be instrumental in creating memorable experiences for thousands of delegates, speakers, and guests each year.

Your role will involve collaborating closely with colleagues across the organization to identify event opportunities, develop innovative concepts, and craft robust business plans. Your role will include securing venues and sponsors, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring seamless event execution from start to finish.

In addition to event logistics, you'll be responsible for creating and implementing event marketing strategies, measuring performance and feedback, and forming long-term relationships with sponsors and exhibitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Strategy, Planning, and Execution:

Oversee the end-to-end event management.

Coordinate pre-event requirements with suppliers.

contract negotiations with external suppliers.

Track sales success and provide feedback to senior management.

Conduct thorough analysis of event feedback, reviewing reports and comments to implement best practices and improvements for future event.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in successfully managing events end to end and will ideally come from an association background - although event management from a corporate settings background will also be considered.
