Salary: £29,605 - £36,034 per annum - AC1.

The Role:

University College Birmingham's School of Engineering, Digital & Sustainable Construction provides a unique opportunity for the right candidate.

Our Sustainable Construction department is experiencing rapid growth, with highly successful trade courses that are attracting strong enrolment numbers. This role will be based in our James Cond building, in our newly retrofitted Sustainable Construction Centre, where we are offering courses in carpentry, bricklaying, electrical installations and plumbing, with more to follow in the Autumn. As a result, we are seeking an Associate Lecturer - Pastoral to join our team during this exciting growth period to assist us in meeting the demand.

As a member of our team, you will have access to the best resources and cutting-edge equipment in the industry, working alongside a group of trade tutors from various sectors. For the right individual, we provide a chance for a highly motivated self-starter to join us to actively participate in supporting curriculum delivery with our curriculum experts. You will also collaborate with our industry partners to secure work and industry placements.

As part of a team of lecturers and senior lecturers, you will help deliver the pastoral tutoring programme. You will assist in motivating students to achieve their best whilst supporting the academic team with delivering the academic programmes, setting student targets, and implementing the college disciplinary processes. You will ensure that the students are fully prepared for the workforce and can embark on high-value careers when they leave us.
