Are you a qualified Accountant based in Guernsey, looking to take the next step in your career?

An opportunity for an Associate Director of Finance has emerged at a reputable professional services firm. The role is required to drive efficiency, monitor workflows throughout the finance section and support and advise all sections of the business on financial matters.

The role will also include: team management, developing process and procedures, implementing improvements, tax compliance, advising the business on accounting best practice, statutory requirements and accounting deadlines for individual and corporate pension schemes.

The role reports to the Finance Director.

Duties:

  • Drive finance efficiency, monitor workflows, and provide financial guidance.
  • Manage team, develop procedures, and implement improvements.
  • Ensure tax compliance and advise on accounting best practices.
  • Lead accounting for various products and remain updated on financial regulations.
  • Prepare and review statutory financial accounts and statements.
  • Manage audit process for client structures and assist auditors for business accounts.
  • Complete tax returns, oversee reconciliations, and analyse monthly management accounts.
  • Contribute to finance reports and board meetings, and train finance team.
  • Conduct performance management and recruitment, and promote personal development.
  • Provide technical assistance, act as signatory, and attend management meetings.
  • Build client relationships and uphold company values.

Competencies:

  • Professional accountancy qualification.
  • Working knowledge of FRS 102.
  • Logical approach to productivity and problem-solving.
  • Experience or understanding of HMRC tax reporting.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage people and influence decisions.
