Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Assistant Site Manager to support the Site Manager in overseeing the construction of a new housing development in Sunderland. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for construction to gain valuable experience and contribute to the successful delivery of a significant project.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Site Manager in coordinating and managing all on-site activities to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
  • Supervise and motivate site operatives and subcontractors to maintain high standards of workmanship and health and safety
  • Monitor progress against the project schedule and take proactive measures to address any delays or issues that may arise
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations
  • Assist with the procurement of materials and equipment, and ensure efficient use of resources
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager and other stakeholders to resolve any technical or logistical challenges
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, progress photos, and site inductions

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, ideally on residential projects
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with a range of stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software
  • Valid CSCS card and SMSTS certificate preferred
