We are delighted to partner with a leading STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) organisation to secure the best talent for their multifaceted team. The business is looking for an experienced hospitality professional to join them on a full-time permanent basis as an Assistant Restaurant Manager. The successful candidate will support the restaurant manager, daily with the running of the catering service operation, ensuring the smooth execution of all catering events, from initial planning to final service. Working 5 days a week between 7:00 - 22:30, The Assistant Restaurant Manager will be integral to the success of the catering team who takes great pride in delivering a customer centric and detailed oriented experience to all customers. Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all aspects of daily restaurant operations, including opening, and closing procedures, staffing, and inventory management.
  • Provide day to day training and supervision to staff on services in both Dining Room and Bar and ensure duties are carried out to a high standard.
  • Ensure the restaurant and other catering areas are prepared correctly for the next service, checking arrangements on the computer booking system.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and mutual respect among staff members.
  • Pre-empt problems with catering service and act to avert them, bring concerns to the attention of senior managers.
  • In the absence of the Restaurant Manager prepare and communicate rota for staff.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction levels and implement strategies to enhance customer service and loyalty.
  • Assist in budget planning and monitoring of financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure adequate stock levels and timely deliveries.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of marketing initiatives, promotions, and special events to drive revenue and attract new customers.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a supervisor or an Assistant Restaurant Manager is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Solid understanding of restaurant operations, including food and beverage service, sanitation standards, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and catering software.
  • Relevant industry qualification is preferred but not essential.
