Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Junior Project Manager with a strong mechanical background to join our dynamic team. As part of a well-established construction and M&E contractor based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, you will play a vital role in our delivery team. With over 30 years of experience and a solid client base in sectors such as transport, healthcare, and education, our company operates primarily in the southeast, east, and south of England, with occasional projects in the Midlands. Rest assured, we are financially stable and offer a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within a team to manage and deliver projects, including facilities maintenance contracts, from conception to completion.
- Assist in expanding our client base by developing relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- Oversee projects, including small-scale projects and facilities maintenance, using our in-house FM, IT, and integrated management systems to ensure compliance and quality.
- Manage FM reports, identifying remedial actions and generating quotations as needed.
- Act as a client-facing representative, handling inquiries, proposals, and tender returns.
- Ensure health and safety compliance across all projects.
- Coordinate in-house engineers and subcontractors effectively.
- Provide regular reporting as required.
Requirements:
- Trade time served or fully qualified in a mechanically biased field, ideally from a plumbing and heating background.
- Experience in facilities maintenance within an MEP environment.
- Proficiency in various mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with construction works.
- Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Ability to engage with clients, colleagues, and suppliers in face-to-face interactions.
