Role Overview

Due to expansion, this newly created role will support the Divisional Finance Manager by providing a quality, reliable and accurate service of both a financial and non-financial nature. 

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our finance team with the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reports for senior management review.
  • Reconciliation of fees/billing schedules.
  • Calculating and collating commission payments.
  • Contributing to annual budgeting and regular forecasting activities.
  • Supporting the variance analysis between actual, prior year and budgeted figures, providing insights into business performance.
  • Assist with the production of divisional forecasts and plans.
  • Participating in the development and maintenance of financial models to aid in decision making.
  • Analysing data to identify trends. 
  • Assisting with year-end audit preparations and liaising with external auditors as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Working closely with other departments to provide financial analysis and support on various projects.
  • Preparing presentations.
  • Maintaining and improving financial reporting systems, processes, and controls.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A solid foundation in accounting principles, with part-qualification in ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent being highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial software systems.
  • Experience of using Dynamics 365 would be an advantage.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
