Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant for a business based in the Birmingham area. This role offers great exposure in a growing business, working closely with the Management Accountant you will gain invaluable experience and the opportunity to further your career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing accruals, prepayments, depreciation and monthly & year end journals
  • Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers, including postings and account reconciliations
  • Reporting on debtors and creditors and delivering and dealing with invoice queries/disputes
  • Completing Balance sheet, Control Accounts, Bank & Company Credit Cards reconciliations on monthly basis
  • Monitoring and managing daily financial operations, cash flow, and inter-company transactions
  • Reviewing & Submitting VAT and annual returns, reconciling to the accounting system
  • Liaising with HMRC and other professional bodies as required
  • Point of contact for internal and external finance queries, dealing with telephone calls and emails providing general finance advice and general admin support from time to time to other colleagues
  • Assist with the yearend process and liaise with external auditors

Essential requirements:

  • Sage experience
  • Studying a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Excellent Excel skills

This role would suit a Part Qualified Accountant who is looking to further their career and work closely with an experienced Management Accountant. This role offers excellent exposure and flexibility to operate a hybrid system, there is also study support on offer to help you complete your remaining exams.
