As the founding brand within the Group, and with over 40 years' experience in escorted touring, Leger Holidays offers great-value, fully escorted tours to the world's most sought-after destinations. From short breaks and worldwide adventures to river cruises, festive breaks and holidays designed for the single traveller, Leger offers hundreds of carefully planned itineraries, with something to suit every customer's interests.

Following the acquisition of Shearings in July 2020, as a Group, our presence in the UK increased significantly, offering hundreds of affordable breaks and inspiring itineraries to choose from. Rooted in brochures and press advertising, we have demonstrated the ability to scale digital and performance channels since shifting our focus there in late 2019.

After the pent-up demand created by Covid, the business is now focused on delivering continued growth to meet its ambitious plans.

About the role:

Working alongside the Management Accountant and as part of a finance team of 10, this role is integral to ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate month-end reporting.

Month end delivery is a key element of this role; however, the fun doesn’t stop there – you will be a trusted partner to the business with contributions to Board reports, meetings with the Senior Leadership Team and exposure to the fast-paced travel industry, providing ad-hoc commercial support as required.

The successful candidate will ‘own their area’, contributing to budget and forecasts, year-end audit and the development of a first-class finance team. There will be opportunities to work on projects, tirelessly add value and hone their skills.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist the Management Accountant with month-end duties including preparation of management accounts and Board reporting

• Completion of ‘weekly trust claim’ to draw down customer monies held in Trust – essential in ensuring sufficient available liquidity to operate
• A guardian of process and control ensuring these are maintained and documented, proactively suggesting (and making) improvements as required
• Maintenance of the Group’s fixed asset register ensuring capital expenditure is in-line with accounting policy and budget
• Direct / indirect support with the preparation of Group’s annual budget and quarterly reforecast – not only will you be responsible for the preparation of budgets within your area, but you will also shield the team in ‘budget season’ by owning and dealing with ad-hoc business requests
• Play an integral role in the completion of end-of-year Audit to ensure this is completed in good time and with no misstatements
• Maintaining a continuous improvement mentality to continually drive progress in support of finance, wider Group objectives and their own personal development
• Liaising with key stakeholders across the business in support of team objectives
• Ad-hoc duties as required by Finance and wider-business, not restricted to financial reporting and control

What we’re looking for:

• Part-qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA Accountant with a background in an ambitious, fast-paced and dynamic c. £100m turnover business
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel to a high competency
• Attention to detail with the ability to identify, solve and improve imperfections in reporting and process
• Organised and analytical with a clear mind and structured approach to (sometimes) complex tasks
• Agility! With the support of the Management Accountant and wider finance team, the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work to a high standard
• A good communicator who thrives in a collaborative and team-focused environment, with a willingness to build BIG relationships with their colleagues in finance and the wider business. A team player is absolutely essential
• Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Power BI would be an advantage
• Experience in a B2C / Retail environment is desirable

What’s on offer:
