Assistant Management Accountant | Hyper-growth Cosmetics Business | London/Hybrid

Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with one of the UK's fastest-growing cosmetics businesses in their search for a commercially astute and ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, values-driven scale-up working alongside their Finance Controller.

Turning over circa £50 million, with plans to reach £75 million in the next year, the business is growing exponentially. Having gained international recognition for their high quality, innovative and sustainable products, the business is looking to build on this success. Alongside their impressive growth trajectory, the business has a fantastic company culture with a strong set of company values at its core. Working closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Controller this position is newly created and will support with the month end-processes and be a fantastic stepping stone into a Management Accounting role into the future.

The role:

  • Supporting the Finance Controller in the production of the monthly management accounts as well as support towards the annual financial statements
  • Review and Analyse the monthly management accounts to spot key differences and variances within the accounts
  • Support on reviews and cost analysis for different SKUs
  • Work alongside the Finance Controller to identify any key areas to improve finance controls as well as improve best practice / systems
  • Support teams outside of finance with any queries or instances where they might need to understand more about accounts / finance processes
  • Support with the annual budget and forecasting cycles
  • Ah-hoq support with special projects around improving systems or controls

What our client would like to see (required):

  • Part-qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA / qualified by experience
  • Experience within a stock based business this could be Cosmetics / Retail / F&B / Manufacturing / Ecommerce / Consumer Goods / FMCG
  • Stock controls experience
  • Ability to work with a high level of autonomy
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Confidence with working with stakeholders outside of the finance team i.e being able to speak to managers of other departments and answering queries or explaining processes
  • Desire to learn and demonstrate ambition to progress

What we would like to see (optional):

  • Experience on supporting with month-end and a shift away from transactional finance work (AP/AR)
  • Evidence of working with other departments outside of finance i.e Sales or Marketing or Supply Chain or Innovations teams

Salary: £40-45k + benefits

Work from home (WFH): 2 days in office / 3 days from home
