Assistant Management Accountant

£29,000-£32,000, plus study support.

I am pleased to be representing a fantastic business in Manchester in their search for an Assistant Management Accountant to take ownership of their Fixed Assets and Expenses processes. The ideal candidate will possess meticulous attention to detail and expertise in managing fixed asset ledgers while adeptly handling expense claim challenges.

This role will suit an Assistant Accountant looking to step up into an Assistant Management Accountant role and the business has a demonstrable history of promoting from within, so there are plenty of progression opportunities into broader Management Accounts roles and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for recording the cost, tracking, depreciating, and accounting for newly acquired and existing fixed assets, including tangible and intangible assets.
  • Establish and uphold a robust system of controls, procedures, and forms for fixed asset recordation.
  • Manage the recording of fixed asset acquisitions and disposals in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger balances with the summary-level account in the general ledger.
  • Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets and maintain accurate depreciation schedules.
  • Prepare audit schedules related to fixed assets and collaborate with auditors as needed.
  • Lead the administration of the expense system, ensuring accurate posting and financial transaction analysis.
  • Process staff expense claims and payments weekly in adherence to Expenses policy guidelines.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the finance team's responsibilities to provide coverage during absences.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • AAT qualified/studier, or finance graduate with minimum 1-2 years relevant experience
