We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Head Teacher to join our team at a thriving school in Watford, Hertfordshire. This is a permanent, full-time role with a start date of September 2024.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Teacher and other senior leaders to provide strategic direction and leadership for the school. You will play a pivotal role in driving the continued improvement of standards in teaching and learning, as well as overseeing the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Teacher in shaping the strategic direction of the school
  • Lead on specific areas of school improvement, such as curriculum development or assessment
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the school, ensuring high standards of behaviour and attendance
  • Support and mentor teachers to develop their skills and improve outcomes for students
  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community

Qualifications and experience:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school
  • A track record of success in raising standards of teaching and learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to the wellbeing of students and staff
  • A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
