Berneslai Homes has an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Head of Neighbourhoods & Tenancy Sustainability to join their team based in Barnsley. You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £52,889 to £56,633 per annum.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Assistant Head of Neighbourhoods & Tenancy Sustainability:?  

  • Develop strategies and delivery plans to meet the needs of communities around neighbourhood management, environmental management, tenancy sustainability and community safety. 
  • Continually develop and deliver efficient services based on the principles of professionalism in social housing, managing high performing services to achieve positive sustainable outcomes for our tenants. 
  • Develop and maintain robust performance management and quality assurance systems to ensure the objectives of the service areas are met efficiently and effectively, with demonstrable outcomes. 
  • Investigate, respond to, and learn from complaints and appeals in line with policy, procedures, and the Housing Ombudsman complaint handling code. 
  • Provide specialist guidance in relation to legislation, critical risk factors, needs assessments and programmes effecting positive changes for our most vulnerable tenants. 
  • Ensure services are co-designed and monitored with our tenants and are fully compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements including those issued by the Regulator of Social Housing. 
  • Develop and maintain effective partnership working with other services and organisations that are contributing to the overall objectives of the service, taking a deputy lead role in the safeguarding of adults and children. 
  • Provide and present reports to a range of audiences including tenants, senior management, Customer Services Committee, and the Council 

What we’re looking for in our Assistant Head of Neighbourhoods & Tenancy Sustainability

  • Level 6 qualification, and / or substantial relevant experience at a senior level. 
  • Possess, or willingness to undertake a Level 4 Chartered Institute of Housing qualification. 
  • Ability to provide inspirational leadership and constructive support to colleagues, direct reports, and partners. 
  • Ability to develop strategies and policies which engage and inspire. 
  • Extensive experience of social housing and understanding of the pressures facing the sector and its customers. 
  • Experience of working on significant change projects, including policy and procedure formulation and implementation. 
  • Experience of effectively motivating, and managing teams, with the ability to motivate individuals to maximise their performance.
