Flackwell Heath is an established golf club with an impressive heritage dating back to 1904. It enjoys excellent views overlooking the Wye Valley with a range of function spaces, including a members’ area. We are hiring for multiple positions (Assistant Food & Events Manager and Chef) so this a perfect opportunity for a pair of skilled individuals who live locally or are open to the idea of relocating. If it is the latter, we can negotiate an accommodation with you!


About the Assistant Food & Events Manager role:

As an Assistant Food and Events Manager, you'll be at the forefront, delivering on our mission! We're seeking a passionate leader who can inspire, motivate, and support their team to exceed commercial goals and provide exceptional guest experiences. You'll have high standards when it comes to service and take ownership and pride in your work.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements and run all aspects of service in the absence of the Food and Beverage Manager
  • Assist in managing the events diary, taking bookings, and discussing arrangements and event requirements
  • Participate in the preparation of the departmental operating budget and financial plans, with a focus on controlling expenses
  • Ensure the Food and Beverage team is properly trained on quality and service standards, equipped with necessary tools and equipment, and empowered to excel in their roles
  • Drive promotions that deliver exceptional dining experiences for our valued guests
  • Manage local food and beverage marketing programs, staying informed about industry trends and monitoring competition
  • Assist in recruiting, managing, training, and developing the Food and Beverage team
  • Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals, ensuring prompt and courteous response to guest inquiries and requests
  • Conduct proper food and beverage inventory procedures to maintain optimal stock levels
  • Work within budgeted guidelines for food, liquor costs, and payroll

  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in the hospitality industry.
  • A genuine people person with a passion for delivering amazing service and delighting our guests.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and use problem-solving skills to keep service running smoothly.
  • Good working knowledge of food and beverage, as well as licensing regulations.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a focus on team development and motivation.
  • Flexibility to work according to the needs of the business, as agreed with the Food and Events Manager.
