Assistant Controller

£55,000-£65,000 p.a. plus bonus

Office-based (flexible), London

Our client, a leading global Real Estate Investment and Asset Manager, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Controller to join their growing finance team in London.

This is an ideal first move out of practice into an industry role to contribute to the financial management of projects and gain valuable exposure to various investment vehicles across Europe and the UK.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the Financial Controller to oversee ongoing projects
  • Assist in maintaining project cash flow models, analysing cash movements, and preparing annual budgets
  • Provide oversight of outsourced service providers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial information.
  • Coordinate tax oversight activities, including preparation of CIS returns and review of VAT returns
  • Monitor payment processes, including invoice approval procedures, supplier setup, and compliance with the company's requirements
  • Service charges overview, liaising with the Property Managers
  • Support external debt monitoring activities

Requirements:

  • Accounting Qualification (ACCA/ ACA/ CIMA) and a relevant academic degree
  • Prior experience in accounting/ audit
  • Property experience is advantageous
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Excel
