Location: Peterborough

Remuneration: £35,000 - £40,000 + Branch performance bonus

The role of the Assistant Branch Manager - Softwood Timber and Panel Products will involve:

• Assistant Branch Manager position selling a range of predominantly softwood timber products and sheet panel materials (but also joinery, softwood and decorative surfaces)
• Selling into various main contractors, and subcontractors including joinery contractors, building contractors, housebuilders, fencing contractors, hoarding contractors, façade contractors, shop fitters as well as occasional retail trade end users
• Primarily a sales focused role with a minor focus on the operational side
• Typical order values ranging from £500 - £20,000
• Dealing with inbound sales enquiries via telephone and email
• You will be given a number of ledger accounts to manage and increase sales from
• Pro-actively selling, following up leads and enquiries promptly
• An element of looking for potential new business opportunities

The ideal applicant will be an Assistant Branch Manager - Softwood Timber and Panel Products with:

• Must have 2-3+ years sales experience within a merchants, would consider branch managers
• If not merchants, other construction sales experience would be considered
• Any knowledge of timber products highly advantageous but not essential
• A strong commercial acumen with a passion for sales
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be a good team player
• Initiative and autonomous approach
• Driven, enthusiastic, hungry with a passion for the product and company
