Location: City of London

Salary: £30-35k + study support & benefits

This is a well established financial services business based in City of London. They provide high-quality expertise in insurance and business solutions for various sectors and businesses.

Due to recent growth, they are looking to hire a talented Assistant Accountant to join their progressive finance team.

Role

The Assistant Accountant for this financial services firm based in City of London, will work closely with the Senior Financial Accountant and Controller in supporting end-to-end financial/accounting processes as well as working closely with AR team. They will take on a number of key duties including:

• Playing a key part in the month-end reporting process.
• Taking ownership of costs across various divisions.
• Owning the balance sheet reconciliations for various costs.
• Actively undertaking in-depth analysis on key projects.
• Monthly journal postings to ensure processing is done in time and accurately.
• Preparing accruals and reviewing prepayment schedules.
• Ensure controls and financial processes are in place, making improvements where necessary.

Profile

The ideal profile for this progressive Assistant Accountant role, should have the following attributes:

• Ideally 1-2 years of experience within an similar Assistant Accountant position in industry.
• Experience supporting month-end procedures (journal posting etc.)
• Active accounting studier (AAT, ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-starter and proactive individual, able to work autonomously.
• Good Excel skills
• Experience with SAP would be beneficial.
