Assistant Accountant

JHE & Partners are delighted to be working exclusively, with a fantastic business in Shipley who are looking to recruit an assistant accountant on a permanent basis.

Working in a small team of 3 and reporting into the financial director, this is a superb opportunity working with a knowledgeable and experienced FD, preparing the management accounts for a group of subsidiary companies. Candidates qualified by experience or AAT qualified are encouraged to apply.

Duties include:

• Working on the accounts for 3 companies within the group
• Preparing management accounts including prepayments, accruals and monthly journals
• Working closely with the FD providing MI for senior management
• Processing purchase invoices
• Banks reconciliations
• Payment runs
• VAT returns
• Assisting in the monitoring of company cash flow
• Month-end reporting on Excel working closely with the FD
• Ad-hoc finance duties to be expected in a small finance team

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a varied and exciting accounts role in the local Shipley area with the support from a great FD and a close-knit finance team. A good level of Excel is needed for the role as you must be comfortable working to pivot table and v lookup level. Salary on offer is in the region of £30,000- £35,000 depending on experience. Hours of work are 37.5 hours, with pension and free parking, 25 days holiday and 2 x death in service.
