Title: Assistant Accountant

Type: 15-month temporary contract

Location: Central London, hybrid working options offered.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + bonus + benefits

The company:

Our client is a multinational Shipping group, headquartered in London. They are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their high performing finance team on a 15-month contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the preparation and control of intercompany, related party and third party reconciliations.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations and payment instructions
  • Preparation and input of journal entries for approval by Group Accountants
  • Assisting Group Accountants with quarter end procedures.
  • Assisting Chief Accountant with further accounting tasks when required
  • Ensuring that accounting controls are adhered to at all times
  • Maintenance and quarterly uploading of the Company’s lease, depreciation, deferred charges, interest accruals and other accounting schedules as required.
  • Researching technical accounting issues and preparation of file notes and accounting memos for non-routine commercial transactions. (depending on experience)

Role Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will be a part qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA studier with at least 3 years experience in an accounting function
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as a part of a team
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Candidates must have advanced Excel skills/analytical skills
